DFDS opens new shipping line on Egypt and Italy route

DFDS, the leading company in maritime transport and logistics, has opened a new maritime shipping frontier in the middle of Egypt and Italy.

With the introduction of the new line, DFDS included Mısır ⁇ in its service network for the first time, and started the first Ro-Ro transportation service in the middle of these markets nearly a decade later. The new border will make it easier to transport loaded grain and fruit, weaving and other goods to Europe via the Port of Trieste, and various works such as dairy works, agricultural and industrial works from Europe to Egypt.

Shorter delivery deadlines will give you an advantage

The Dimyat-Trieste border, which will make its first voyage with its historical prestige on November 29, 2024, offers a fast and cost-effective alternative to container transportation, especially for perishable artifacts. The service, which will be organized once a week from both ports, will be operated for a period of approximately 68 hours from Dimyat ⁇ tan on Fridays and from Trieste ⁇ on Mondays.

Lars Hoffmann, Head of DFDS Mediterranean Business Unit, stated that they are very excited to announce the opening of the new sea freight transportation line in the middle of Dimyat and Trieste as DFDS and said ⁇ With this new route, our customers will benefit from shorter transit times and competitive transportation offers ⁇ .

DFDS entered into a strategic partnership with Pan Marine Shipping Services, the leader in shipping and logistics services in Egypt for the Egyptian operations of this service. For this new route, Pan Marine commissioned a special terminal in Dimyat Port and the terminal was equipped to manage all shipments, thus ensuring a problem-free and efficient process for cargo loading and unloading.

Pan Marine Deputy Leader Marwan El Shazly said the following about the new service: As Pan Marine, a comprehensive transport and logistics service provider, we offer marine assays in accordance with the requirements of both the local market and our global customers. The introduction of the new maritime freight transport route is a valuable milestone in Egypt's commercial relations with Europe. We are pleased to partner with DFDS to deliver innovative and efficient shipping assays. ⁇

New border offers opportunities for Turkish shipping companies

The new Dimyat-Trieste route is expected to increase commercial activity in ports and surrounding areas. In particular, the increased activity in the port of Trieste is expected to create new opportunities for Turkish transport companies already operating in Europe, in relation to the transport of incoming goods to other European markets.

Lars Hoffmann, Head of the Mediterranean Business Unit, said: "This new route will inevitably increase cargo from Trieste ⁇ ye and Trieste ⁇ to other European markets. In this context, the launch of this service will naturally increase the commercial dynamism in the region and make it possible for Turkish transport companies operating in Europe to provide transportation services for goods that will reach the Egyptian to Italian and other European markets. We are confident that this initiative will strengthen economic ties and promote growth for all in the region.

The new line was introduced on 5 November 2024 in Cairo, Egypt, at an event attended by local authorities, DFDS customers and representatives.
