Hong Kong Deputy Minister of Justice Dr. Cheung Kwok-kwan told Euronews\u2019e that the delegation was designed to position Hong Kong\u2019 as a bridge between Chinese mainland companies looking to expand internationally and the Central Asian markets.<\/p>\n

The delegation's visit included the Astana International Financial Centre \u2019ni, which operates under British common law, which is the same legal framework that governs Hong Kong\u2019.<\/p>\n

Cheung said the common legal basis creates direct opportunities for Hong Kong lawyers and financial professionals to act as intermediaries for businesses on the Chinese mainland operating in Kazakhstan\u2019 and Central Asia\u2019.<\/p>\n

Companies in mainland China can come here under the guidance of Hong Kong lawyers, \u201c said. \u201cAnd businessmen not only from mainland China, but also from Middle East\u2019 and all over the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
