EU Industry Commissioner St\u00e9phane S\u00e9journ\u00e9 on Friday called on EU businesses to diversify their suppliers as trade tensions with China escalate.<\/p>\n

The comments come at a time when Beijing\u2019 has repeatedly made threats against AB\u2019 in recent weeks, and Brussels is trying to strengthen \u2019's legislation against its Asian rival.<\/p>\n

Last year, China restricted the export of rare earth and chips, which are strategic for AB\u2019's green technologies, defense and automotive industries.<\/p>\n

Measures force automakers to diversify<\/b><\/p>\n

The so-called \u201c Industrial Accelerator Act aims to support EU companies in public procurement and impose strict conditions on Chinese \u201d's investments in the bloc. The Cyber Security Act, meanwhile, could exclude Chinese telecommunications companies from the EU market.<\/p>\n
