Global container shipping giant Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a new European-Red Sea-Middle East express service connecting key European ports to Saudi Arabia and other regional hubs.<\/p>\n
The announcement came as companies in global supply chains responded to growing demand and increased disruption in Middle Eastern trade routes as a result of the US-Iran conflict.<\/p>\n
MSC said its new service will offer faster, more efficient, multimodal alternatives in an increasingly volatile maritime environment.<\/p>\n
Ships sailing from the Baltic Sea \u2019 to Europe\u2019 will be directly connected via the Suez Canal to Jordan\u2019's Aqaba\u2019, Saudi Arabia\u2019's King Abdullah Port\u2019na and Jeddah\u2019.<\/p>\n
The company said in a statement that all European-origin ships from the \u201cNWC-Scan Baltic \u2019 to the Western Mediterranean Adriatic and Eastern Mediterranean Black Sea \u2019 will be served through the MSC\u2019nin capillary service network.<\/p>\n
King Abdullah Port\u2019 to Gulf\u2019 to other hubs in the \u2019, in particular the United Arab Emiratesne, will be provided with connections via land transport.<\/p>\n
The first ship in this service is scheduled to depart Antwerp\u2019 on May 10.<\/p>\n
MSC\u2019's decision to implement this new route bypasses the need to cross the Strait of Hormuz\u2019, which has been effectively restricted by Iran\u2019's measures and increasing military tensions, including US\u2019.<\/p>\n
