Economists surveyed by Bloomberg had a median expectation of keeping the policy rate at 18 percent. Only three economists surveyed by Bloomberg expected a 100 basis point increase.<\/p>\n<p>While raising the policy rate, the bank signaled that it is open to further tightening for the upcoming meeting.<\/p>\n<p>According to data released on Wednesday, annual inflation in the country declined for the first time in August. Inflation, which was announced as 9.13 percent in July, fell to 9.05 percent in August.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Household inflation expectations, an important indicator for the bank, continued to rise, reaching 12.9 percent last month.
