Turkey-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held the first round of negotiations on a free trade agreement (FTA). <\/p>\n
According to the written statement made by the Ministry of Trade, the first round of FTA negotiations between Turkey and the GCC was held in Ankara. <\/p>\n
The negotiations are taking place within the framework of a joint statement signed in March this year by Trade Minister Omar Bolat and GCC Secretary General Jassim Mohammad al-Budeiwi. <\/p>\n
In the first round of the negotiations, detailed negotiations were held between the parties on the chapters of trade in services and facilitation of investments, including areas such as trade in goods, rules of origin, contracting, tourism and health. <\/p>\n
The parties will continue the negotiations with online meetings and meet in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, in the last quarter of the year for the second round of negotiations. <\/p>\n
Negotiations are expected to be completed by the end of the year. <\/p>\n
\u2047 TOTAL TRADE OF GCC MEMBER COUNTRIES WITH THE WORLD 2,4 TRILLION DOLLARS<\/b><\/p>\n
Turkey and the GCC member states (Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Oman) have total trade volumes of $2.4 trillion with the world. In this context, with the implementation of the free trade agreement, one of the largest free trade areas in the world will be created. <\/p>\n
The agreement, which will establish a basis for increasing mutual investments in addition to developing commercial relations, will allow Turkey and the GCC member countries to further develop mutual service investments and cooperation in the field of contracting, from tourism to health, from education to logistics and informatics. <\/p>\n
\u2047 IMPORTANT OPPORTUNITIES ARE PROVIDED TO TURKISH COMPANIES<\/b><\/p>\n
The GCC hosted the 44th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council held in Doha by President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan. After his participation in the summit, he put the free trade agreement negotiations with Turkey on his priority agenda. <\/p>\n
Turkey realized a trade volume of 31.5 billion dollars with GCC member countries last year. <\/p>\n
